MRI Technologist

Location: Vail, Colorado

Job Description:
Assist other techs as needed, ensure quality and efficient clinical workflow, and handle difficult situations as they arise.
Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
Identify each patient and review each patient’s exam order, either hard copy or in computer system, for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information, including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name and date of birth.
Participate in the daily operation and record-keeping of MRI Department to maintain ACR accreditation.
Maintain established hospital and department policies. Abide by the VH Code of Conduct practices.
Maintain expert knowledge and practice of MRI patient safety. Abide by all VH patient safety policy and procedures.
Accurately use the HIS and PACS computer systems to document patient information.
Monitor supply inventory and notify appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low. Keep exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.
Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, patient's family, physicians, co-workers and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
Safely perform all MRI examinations according to VH exam protocols and ACR guidelines.
Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Experience:
1-2 years of previous MRI Tech experience preferred. Previous experience in healthcare required.

License(s):
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) specialty required

Certification(s):
Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association Reqiured.

Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for jobspecific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
