WAREHOUSE SETTING
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, selects, count or dispense (EYECON automated pill counter) based on screen prompt, prepares and packages medications and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients.
Process based on scanning functionality to process prescriptions/medications.
Verifying lot numbers and expiration dates.
Must be able to stand for duration of shift (8-10 hours) two 30 min breaks.
Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for duration of shift.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs.
during a shift.
Reaching and grasping objects at various levels is required (workstations are adjustable and are all standing- chairs are not accommodated as this job requires a lot of moving around the worksite).
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to utilize a keyboard.
Employee regularly works near and around moving machinery (conveyor belts).
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (allow earbuds).
The employee may be required to wear protective clothing (gloves working with certain medications) or equipment.
Able to utilize computer applications to enter data accurately and in line with production standards.
Knows drug names and basic pharmacology knowledge.
Understands medical terminology utilized in a Pharmacy.
Able to collaborate with others to fill and ship accurate and timely orders.
Able to perform Ops Assistant (packing-as the business needs/once a week average/will cross-train) responsibilities.
Must have understanding of basic Pharmacy law.
Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescriptions, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in accordance with the client specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws.
Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices (EYECON)
Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices (gloves).
Performs functions &/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant as needed.
Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed.
Responsible for cleaning for all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas.
Must be able to stand for duration of shift (8-10 hours).
Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for duration of shift.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs. during a shift.

Six months of work experience as a pharmacy technician

REQUIRED
Prefer three months of work experience in a pick/pack/ship environment or similar work experience hospital, home care, etc.
Prefer three months of work computer experience or similar work experience hospital, home care, etc.
Knows drug names and basic pharmacology knowledge.
Understands medical terminology utilized in a Pharmacy.
Able to collaborate with others to fill and ship accurate and timely orders.
Able to perform Ops Assistant responsibilities.
Prefer an understanding of basic Pharmacy law
